Kevin P. Young, Strategic Advisor
As Strategic Advisor to USG1, Mr. Young has helped in strategizing and planning best practices for management and marketing to the federal and state marketplace in USG1.
Mr. Young is currently an Adjunct Professor of Marketing for George Mason University's School of Business. Mr. Young has a long and successful history of over 35-plus years in planning and execution of Marketing, Business Development and Business Management strategy, programs, processes and metrics across Federal, State and Local Government and also Fortune 500 companies.
Additionally, Mr. Young has expertise in Federal Government Contracting Growth Strategy, Marketing, Business Development, Capture and Proposal Response. Some of his roles in government contracting included Chief Strategy and Growth Officer with Fibertek, Inc., Director of Marketing and Business Development at Fielder’s Choice Enterprises, Inv., VP of Federal Services at Aquent, LLC., Corporate VP of Global Marketing Operations for Unisys, BU Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at SAIC, and Manager of Marketing Communications and Media Relations for IBM Federal.
As a management consultant Mr. Young’s noted consulting and training clients have included Amdocs (lsrael), Capgemini (France), CENTECH, CIS Secure Computing, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Deloitte, Deltek, GovConectx, Hollingsworth Logistics Group, ITT Exelis, Leidos, Markel, MicroTech, Procurement Technical Assistance Programs (PTACs) for the States of Virginia, Alaska and Colorado, SUNTIVA, SYNERGY ONE (now Apple) FCU, and USE (China). Mr. Young also advises private equity and venture capital investment firms and clients.
Mr. Young has publishing credits with USA TODAY, Time-Life Books, and Washington Technology and also speaking engagements at CMO summit, Government IT sales Summit and Government Marketing Best Practices Forum.
He is a Professionally Qualified (PQ) faculty member under accreditation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Mr. Young is also a trainer for GovConectx, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs), and U.S. Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs).
Some of Mr. Young’s honors include IBM’s Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Award, IBM's Award of Excellence and (as site team) Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Mr. Young holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from lona College, Master of Arts degree from Fordham University, and executive education certifications from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business and the University of Richmond's Robins School of Business.
